Local file processing

Paperlane converts and edits files in your browser. Document contents are not uploaded to a conversion server. When you close or reset a tool, the selected files are removed from the tool’s working state. Downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them.

Website data

Your browser requests application code and assets from the hosting provider, which may collect standard access logs such as IP addresses. We do not include advertising, analytics or third-party tracking scripts in this version. Favorites are stored in your browser’s local storage. You can remove them by clearing this site’s browser data.

Using the tools

Only process files you have the right to use. Review converted documents before relying on them. Tools are provided as-is, and conversion accuracy, size reduction and compatibility are not guaranteed. Keep a copy of important originals.

Editing and signatures

The editor can replace supported existing text blocks and add visual annotations. Some grouped text, scans and fonts are not supported. It does not securely redact information or offer certified digital signatures. Flattening forms does not encrypt files or prevent later modification.

Practical limits

File processing depends on your device’s memory and browser. Current limits are 25 files and 100 MB total per operation, with up to 100 pages for PDF rendering. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
