How to try compressing a photo to 50 KB
Reduce image size without confusing kilobytes with pixels.
Check the actual limit
Find out whether the portal wants the photo at or below 50 KB, or between a minimum and maximum size. The upload field may require JPEG and specified pixel dimensions as well.
Try bounded compression
Paperlane searches different image quality settings and, if needed, reduces pixel dimensions to get closer to the target. If the image cannot reach the requested size within safe limits, it reports the actual size instead of claiming success.
Inspect the finished photo
Inspect your face, handwriting or small text at full size. If the photo becomes too blurred, start from a clearer image and verify whether the official limit or minimum resolution has been misunderstood.
